Research Databases
Let’s get one thing straight; Google is NOT reserach! Google is quick infomration retrieval that gathers both accurate and/or inaccurate information. The ‘FAKE NEWS’ you would have to dig through to find your factual, research based, information would take years. Databases host a wide variety of vetted information that is continually updated and checked for accuracy.

If you are using an online database, check and see if there is a CITE option. Often the database will do the hard work for you!

Librivox Audio Books – LibriVox volunteers record chapters of books in the public domain and release the audio files back onto the internet for free. All audio is also in the public domain. Contains many audio versions of classic literature.

Augusta Public Library & Sunflower eLibrary – Downloadable (or streaming) audiobooks and ebooks. You will need an Augusta Public Library card to be able to access these materials.
- Project Gutenberg – Free access to books in the public domain. Fantastic titles just waiting to be read!!!!

Plagiarism Policy at AHS
Academic dishonesty is not acceptable. Cheating, defined as copying another student’s work and claiming it is your own. Plagiarism is defined as using another person’s original ideas or writing without giving credit to the true author. Both are prohibited practices at Augusta High School. Materials taken from electronic sources are covered by this policy. A student who engages in any form of academic dishonesty will be subject to the loss of credit for the work in question, as well as, other disciplinary measures up to and including suspension or expulsion.

AHS Library Book Policy: Students can have up 3 items checked out at one time. If a student loses an AHS book, their PowerSchool account will be charged $20.00 per book lost. If a studnet is utilizing Augusta Public Library interlibrary loan services and loses an APL book, their PowerSchool account with be assessed $50.00. Student library accounts more than $20.00, can only have 1 item checked out at a time.
AHS Library Chromebook Policy: Students who forget their district issued Chromebook will be allowed to check out a loaner up to two times per semester. All students have been informed of this policy. If a student has their Chromebook, but it's not charged, the above mentioned policy still applies for two times per semester. Students can purchase a charger in the main office for $30.00.
This AHS Library Chromebook Policy does not apply towards Chromebooks that need Work Order assistance.
